Career Exploration
The people in Ready2Work are competing for jobs with the rest of the working world. For that reason, we work with them to ensure that they have the best chance of getting the position in which they are most interested and where they can make a positive contribution.
We have helped job seekers find and keep meaningful jobs in numerous fields, including:
- Retail
- Food service
- Manufacturing
- Medical billing
- Clerical work
- Small business ownership
We start the Career Exploration process by getting to know each person and learning about their skills, interests, job history, and job preferences. If they are interested in a particular field or position, we assess whether it would be a good fit for them based on their skills and any special needs they may have.
Job Shadowing
Once a position has been identified, we arrange for a job shadowing visit, in which they visit a job site to see exactly what an employee does during a shift. This offers a first-hand look at the duties of the position and allows them to determine if the job is one they can handle and enjoy. From there, we focus on helping each person develop the skills they need to succeed in the job they’re passionate about.
The career exploration process also gives job seekers flexibility. If they ever are not satisfied with a job after shadowing a given position, they have the ability to circle back and explore other employment options.
